  • Music Lessons - Band Grades 6-12

    This is a great time for students to improve their ability to play their band instrument! Registration is open for woodwind, brass and percussion musicians with Mr. Jake Matheson. Whether students are starting their first year of band or nearing high school graduation, these lessons are ideal! Mr. Matheson will be provided with your contact information and will contact you to schedule your child's lessons. If you need to cancel and reschedule a lesson, please contact the instructor by email at least 24 hours in advance. Lessons canceled with less than 24 hours notice will not be rescheduled.

College Links creates opportunities for diverse, underserved and/or underrepresentedteens to nurture their talents and personal power.This esteemed program provides students with professional and soft skill tools, goal setting and planning skills, and access to career immersion activities.Programming is provided through monthly developmental sessions, on SaturdaysfromOctober -May.     If you'd like to improve your skills on your string instrument then please sign up for lessons! Lessons will be tailored to each student so that the individual student gets the most out of every lesson whether the interest is to study technique, blue grass, jazz or classical.     Gain New Perspectives * Give Back * Create Connections This is an awesome opportunity for Forest Lake Area High School students who want to make a difference in our community. Participate in leadership development and learn about opportunities for students to get connected with volunteer projects. Students will have the opportunity to achieve a varsity letter in volunteerism and community service. For the 2021-2022 school year, we will be scheduling our meetings just a month in advance.   • Clogging - Beginner Age 8-Adult

    Please click here to register for Clogging-Beginner. Clogging is a fun activity for the whole family and provides great exercise! Learn the basic steps of clogging along with at least three routines. Modern clogging shows similarities to Tap, Irish Dancing and Hip Hop. No previous dance experience needed. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes that slide easily or you can purchase a pair of glue-on clogging taps from the instructor for $20. These taps can be put on any basic flat soled shoes. White shoes are preferred. At the end of the session, dancers are invited to perform their routines at a local event.

  • FIRST® LEGO® League Robotics Competition Ages 8-14

    Please click here to register for FIRST LEGO League Robotics Competition. In FIRST® LEGO® League, students will be immersed in a real-world science and technology challenge. Teams will strategize, design, program and test an autonomous robot to perform a series of missions based on an annual theme. Research a real-world problem, come up with a solution and then participate in a regional tournament. Adult volunteer assistant coaches needed. No experience necessary.
  • Sewing Machine Quick-Start Age 16-Adult

    If you've never used a sewing machine before or if it’s been years, this is a great class to take first! You’ll learn how to thread a sewing machine and sew a straight line as well as techniques for machine handling that are frustrating to figure out on your own. During the process of getting comfortable with the sewing machine, you will also create a microwave bowl cozy to prove you can sew. You are welcome to and you might find it helpful to bring your own sewing machine. Sewing and Fitting Mentor is located at 69 Lake St. N, Forest Lake. Project kits of fabric will be available for purchase from the instructor for $5-$8 or you can purchase your own fabric.   • PrepStar Blast Entering Grades 10-12

    A strong ACT score continues to be important for college admissions and financial aid. In this class, an ACT expert will cover the test format, essential strategies and content review. Students will take a fully proctored practice ACT test. They will score their test in the online scoring system for immediate results and will receive a detailed score report. It is recommended that students register for the next available ACT exam which is scheduled for October 23, 2021. This course takes place over a total of three days; two Thursday evenings and one Saturday morning.
