  • Flag Football League Entering Grades K-3 WAIT LIST

    Please note: This is the waiting list for Flag Football League Entering Grades K-3. If a spot opens on your preferred team, you will be automatically enrolled into the correct course and added to a team. If there is a spot available on a different team, you will be contacted. If there is no spot available, you will not be contacted and you will be removed and refunded on September 15th. If you would like to be removed and refunded before September 15th, please contact Melanie at mhaas@flaschools.org or 651-982-8392. Flag Football League will focus on skills such as passing, catching, ball handling and learning game positions. Register by what grade your student is entering in the fall and the elementary school your student attends. We monitor our numbers daily and will accept as many participants as possible. We add students in order of registration and your child must be on the waiting list before placing them onto a team. You will be contacted if there is a spot open on any team within your child's age/grade. Please note, this may not be the team you have selected. Please note below: Games: Tuesdays (K-1) Thursdays (2-3) K-1 2-3 All games are held at Fenway Fields and practices will be held at various FLAS Elementaries at 5:30pm or 6:30pm. In addition to the game nights, a weekly practice will be planned and communicated by the volunteer coach after the coaches meeting. Practices can be held on Monday-Thursday, excluding your game day.   • Girls on the Run Grades 3-5

    Girls are invited to join us as we move our bodies, gain confidence, build relationships and prepare to run a non-competitive 5k with Girls on the Run participants from across the State this fall. No experience necessary - girls can run, walk, skip, roll or push - just as long as they are moving forward. Each practice begins with a healthy snack (provided) followed by the topic of the day such as choosing friends or communicating emotions. After running, there is time to stretch, cool down and celebrate our accomplishments. Girls are encouraged to focus on moving forward at their own “happy pace.” Every participant will be invited to run in the Girls on the Run 5k at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds on Sat, Nov 8.   • Lacrosse 101: Girls & Boys Grades 1-8

    Learn about the fastest game on two feet in a fun and engaging event designed for girls and boys of all skill levels who are new to lacrosse. This introductory course will cover the basics of lacrosse, including rules of the game, equipment, positions and essential skills like cradling, passing and shooting. Please wear athletic clothing and tennis shoes and bring a water bottle. All equipment will be provided.   • Fencing Ages 6-15

    Fencing is a vigorous sport that develops stamina, quick reactions, speed, accuracy of movement and excellent coordination. Classes begin with warm-up exercises followed by games, footwork and drills in a fun, enjoyable atmosphere. Through strategic bouting, you’ll learn fencing strategies that require problem solving skills. You'll also build confidence and develop your analytical skills by learning and practicing how to referee bouts. Fencers are fully protected with a mask, jacket and gloves. All equipment is provided. Please wear long athletic pants, t-shirt, athletic shoes and bring a bottle of water.

    Step into the exciting world of pickleball with TGA (Teach. Grow. Achieve.) where the fun never stops! Pickleball combines the fast-paced thrill of tennis with the accessibility of a game suitable for all ages. Students will learn the fundamentals using top-quality equipment provided. Games, drills and matches will help students sharpen their pickleball skills and engage with academic concepts that bring the game's strategies to life. We emphasize sportsmanship, integrity and perseverance to create a nurturing environment where students will receive individualized attention tailored to their skill level and progress.
  • Tae Kwon Do Ages 6-15

    This ancient Korean martial art began over a thousand years ago and became the world's most popular martial art and form of self-defense. Tae Kwon Do is great physical exercise involving the use of your mind, body and spirit while nationally certified instructors teach self control, courtesy, perseverance and integrity. Parents report that their children become more focused in school, increase their self-confidence and improve their social relationships. It is an excellent activity no matter what your level of athletic ability. Classes will be taught by Jr. Grand Master Eddie Gibson and Sr. Master Theresa Gibson.

Pre-Alpha (Age 6+) will focus on forward and backward swizzles, one and two-foot glides, backward wiggles as well as the Tots focus. Participants must be registered by their current age. If you have not participated in Community Education’s Skating Lessons in the past, you must register for Tots or Pre-Alpha. Skaters are evaluated regularly and when the Skating Director feels a skater has mastered all of the skills in their level, they will be moved up to the next level/class. Skaters must officially test out of each level and demonstrate skills in accordance with ISI national testing standards. Our skater to coach ratio is 12 to one per class.   • Skating Lessons Pre Alpha Age 6 and up

    Pre-Alpha (Level 4) is for new/first time skaters age 6+ OR skaters who have passed Tots 3. Skaters must demonstrate 6 swizzles in a row, forward and backward, from a stand still position. Both the two-foot and one-foot glides must be held for a distance equal to the skater's height in a straight line. Skaters must demonstrate at least 6 backward wiggles traveling the distance of their body height. Participants must be registered by their current age.   • Hockey Power Skating Mites 1-2

    This course is for hockey players interested in strengthening their skating skills, increasing their speed/power and improving edge quality. Hockey Lessons will focus on strengthening skating skills, increasing speed/power, improving edge quality and fundamental skills. Participants must be able to stand up on the ice without assistance. Hockey Skills 1 participants must be currently or previously enrolled in Community Education's Intro to Hockey program (groups 3-6). Hockey Skating Skills 2 participants must have passed Pre-Alpha (Level 4), Hockey Skating Skills 1 or be enrolled in "Mites" or above. Our skater to coach ratio is 12 to one per class.
