    Each {YEL!} Junior Robotics class follows four basic components using LEGO® bricks: Teach It! Students are taught the basic STEM engineering concepts behind each project. Build It! Students use LEGO® bricks to build a walking giant, ferocious lion, terrible pterodactyl and more. Program It! Students program the project to walk, roar, flap its wings and more using drag-and-drop icon-based software. Play It! Finally they play with their project, modify it, create extensions and have fun working with it.     The Engineering For Kids CODING Club helps develop your child’s creativity, problem solving skills, teamwork and technology knowledge in an engaging, collaborative way though fun and practical challenges.   • Code Championship Tournament/Virtual Computer Coding Competition - Grades 3-9

    Build a computer bot to play head-to-head against other coders! Players will be broken into pools based on age for competitive and fair play. Whether this is your first Code Championship event or if you've been competing for years this is the perfect way to explore the competitive coding world of Code Championship. No previous coding experience necessary. This event will be hosted online using Google Meet and the Code Championship website. If you have a modern browser like Chrome or Firefox then no additional download is required. Please come knowing how to navigate the internet (basic typing and mouse control). Players can register for one or all three days. The link to the Google Meet event will be emailed two days before the tournament.
  • {YEL!} Grandmasters of Chess Grades K-5

    New and returning students are welcome! Each {YEL!} Chess class follows four basic components: Teach It! Students are taught different chess concepts and coached to implement those concepts into their chess games. Practice It! Students practice positions set by the coach to improve their understanding of the concept. Puzzle It! Students are given chess puzzles, constructed by WIM Serafima Sokolovskaya, and work with coach guidance to solve them. Play It! Each class ends with students playing 20-30 minutes of chess. Coaches often feature in-class tournaments during the session. Fee includes ChessKid.com membership ($49 annual value).

    Each {YEL!} Junior Robotics class follows four basic components using LEGO® bricks: Teach It! Students are taught the basic STEM engineering concepts behind each project. Build It! Students use LEGO® bricks to build a soccer goalie, boat, airplane and more. Program It! They program the project to block shots, weather a fierce storm, spin its propeller and more using drag-and-drop icon-based software. Play It! Finally they play with their project, modify it, create extensions and have fun working with it.
