  • Baseball/Softball League Age 4 - Grade 6 Waitlist

    Please note: This is the WAITING LIST for baseball, t-ball and softball. Once registered, if there is a spot available on your preferred team, you will be automatically enrolled and moved to the that school/team - you will receive a confirmation email. If there is a spot available on a different team for your student's grade/age, you will be contacted. If there is no spot available, you will be removed from the waiting list and refunded on May 13th. If you would like to be removed and refunded before May 13th, please contact us at 651-982-8392. If your child is four years old and you need help registering, please contact our office for assistance. Baseball schedule includes one practice night AND one game night per week. T-Ball/Softball: Age 4 through Kindergarten. Games on Tuesdays. 1st Grade: Modified Coach Pitch. Set number of pitches by the coach to put the ball in play, if that pitch amount is exceeded, there will be an opportunity to put the ball in play off of a tee. Games on Thursdays. 2nd Grade: Set number of pitches by the coach to put the ball in play. Games on Thursdays. 1st/2nd Grade Softball: Games on Thursdays 3rd/4th Grade: Player pitch, age appropriate rules will be followed. Games on Thursdays. 5th/6th Grade: Player pitch, age appropriate rules will be followed. Games on Tuesdays. We monitor our numbers daily and will accept as many participants as possible. We add students in order of registration and your child must be on the waiting list before placing them onto a team. You will be contacted if there is a spot open on any team within your child's age/grade. Please note, this may not be the team you have selected. In addition to the game nights, a weekly practice will be planned and communicated by the volunteer coach after the coaches meeting. Practices can be held on Mondays, Wednesdays or Thursdays.   • Basketball - March Madness Grades K-3

    March Madness is here! Take your skills to the next level in this fun, fast-paced session of March Madness Basketball. Fundamentals and fun are in store. Emphasis is placed on developing the basic skills of dribbling, shooting, passing, sportsmanship and teamwork. We use engaging and dynamic games to support students’ growth including our unique three-on-three style game. This is a high-octane class with an inclusive atmosphere.
  • Archery - Intro Ages 8-12

    Bullseye! Are you looking to try something new or want to enhance your archery skills? Following the National Archery in the Schools Program curriculum, you will learn about all the parts of the bow and arrow, shooting techniques and enhance your skills as a shooter. Don’t miss out on this great opportunity. Shoot straight, have fun and remember - safety first! The registration fee will be refunded after the second session if children are not strong enough to achieve full draw of the bow.
  • Fencing Ages 6-15

    Fencing is a vigorous sport that develops stamina, quick reactions, speed, accuracy of movement and excellent coordination. Classes begin with warm-up exercises followed by games, footwork and drills in a fun, enjoyable atmosphere. Through strategic bouting, you’ll learn fencing strategies that require problem solving skills. You'll also build confidence and develop your analytical skills by learning and practicing how to referee bouts. Fencers are fully protected with a mask, jacket and gloves. All equipment is provided. Please wear long athletic pants, t-shirt, athletic shoes and bring a bottle of water.
  • Tennis Grades 1-6

    Does your child want to join the next generation of young tennis players by learning the skills and developing passion for the game? Kids will learn fundamental skills including forehand, backhand, volley, serve and scoring using equipment designed for indoor use. While students develop the fundamentals, they will explore concepts through gameplay and practice life skills such as sportsmanship and respect.
  • Disc Golf Lessons Grades 4-8

    With plenty of free courses to choose from, disc golf is a fun way to spend time with friends or family. Whether you are a beginner, intermediate, or more experienced, join us to learn the rules of disc golf, the techniques used to play the game, gain instruction to improve your skills and have time to play a few holes each week. Kids will be divided into groups based on skill level so everyone will get the instruction that is right for them! The last week we will have a just for fun tournament at Wildcat Woods Disc Golf Course in Chisago. Bring your own discs or borrow some of ours.
  • Skating Lessons Alpha 5

    Prerequisite, passed Pre-Alpha. Participants will start in Alpha and progress to Delta. The difficulty of each skill will increase with each level. Some of the skills you will learn include right and left outside edge 3-turns, bunny hops, backward crossovers and more. If you have not participated in Community Education’s Skating Lessons in the past, you must register for Tots or Pre-Alpha first. Skaters are evaluated regularly and when the Skating Director feels a skater has mastered all of the skills in their level, they will be moved up to the next level/class. Skaters must officially test out of each level and demonstrate skills in accordance with ISI national testing standards.   • Skating Lessons Beta 6

    Prerequisite, passed Alpha. Skaters must demonstrate 6 backward crossovers in a row with no toe-pushes in both clockwise and counterclockwise directions. Both T-stops must have speed going in and come to a complete stop using the outside edge of the back skate. During backward stroking, skaters should hold the glide portion for 3 seconds. The T-stops are the most difficult element in this level. Participants will start in Alpha and progress to Delta. The difficulty of each skill will increase with each level. Some of the skills you will learn include right and left outside edge 3-turns, bunny hops, backward crossovers and more. If you have not participated in Community Education’s Skating Lessons in the past, you must register for Tots or Pre-Alpha first. Skaters are evaluated regularly and when the Skating Director feels a skater has mastered all of the skills in their level, they will be moved up to the next level/class. Skaters must officially test out of each level and demonstrate skills in accordance with ISI national testing standards.   • Skating Lessons Delta 8

    Prerequisite, passed Gamma. Skaters must demonstrate both right and left inside edge 3-turns with speed and clear entrance/exit edges. Skaters should hold their lunge for a distance equal to their height and exit with a 1-foot glide to show control. The bunny hop can be performed on either side and must take off of and land on the toe pick. Skaters must demonstrate 4-6 forward inside and outside edges with a perpendicular push across the long axis and no toe-pushes. Participants will start in Alpha and progress to Delta. The difficulty of each skill will increase with each level. Some of the skills you will learn include right and left outside edge 3-turns, bunny hops, backward crossovers and more. If you have not participated in Community Education’s Skating Lessons in the past, you must register for Tots or Pre-Alpha first. Skaters are evaluated regularly and when the Skating Director feels a skater has mastered all of the skills in their level, they will be moved up to the next level/class. Skaters must officially test out of each level and demonstrate skills in accordance with ISI national testing standards.   • Skating Lessons Gamma 7

    Prerequisite, passed Beta. Skaters must demonstrate both right and left outside edge 3-turns with speed and clear entrance/exit edges. Both mohawks must be tested in the mohawk step sequence with appropriate speed. Skaters should come to a complete stop with a 90 degree turn to pass the hockey stop. The mohawk sequence is the most difficult element in this level! Participants will start in Alpha and progress to Delta. The difficulty of each skill will increase with each level. Some of the skills you will learn include right and left outside edge 3-turns, bunny hops, backward crossovers and more. If you have not participated in Community Education’s Skating Lessons in the past, you must register for Tots or Pre-Alpha first. Skaters are evaluated regularly and when the Skating Director feels a skater has mastered all of the skills in their level, they will be moved up to the next level/class.   • Skating Lessons Pre Alpha Age 6 and up

    Pre-Alpha (Level 4) is for new/first time skaters age 6+ OR skaters who have passed Tots 3. Skaters must demonstrate 6 swizzles in a row, forward and backward, from a stand still position. Both the two-foot and one-foot glides must be held for a distance equal to the skater's height in a straight line. Skaters must demonstrate at least 6 backward wiggles traveling the distance of their body height. Participants must be registered by their current age. If you have not participated in Community Education’s Skating Lessons in the past, you must register for Tots or Pre-Alpha. Skaters are evaluated regularly and when the Skating Director feels a skater has mastered all of the skills in their level, they will be moved up to the next level/class.     Tots (Ages 3-5) will focus on learning to skate, falling down, getting up, standing and marching independently. Participants must be registered by their current age. If you have not participated in Community Education’s Skating Lessons in the past, you must register for Tots or Pre-Alpha. Skaters are evaluated regularly and when the Skating Director feels a skater has mastered all of the skills in their level, they will be moved up to the next level/class.   • Skating Lessons Tots 2 Ages 3-5

    Prerequisite, passed Tots 1. Tots 2 skaters must master a two-foot hop with both feet leaving the ice. Skaters must demonstrate one swizzle going from heels touching to toes touching in a stand still and while moving. Skaters should hold the two-foot glide for a distance equal to their height. Skaters are evaluated regularly and when the Skating Director feels a skater has mastered all of the skills in their level, they will be moved up to the next level/class. Skaters must officially test out of each level and demonstrate skills in accordance with ISI national testing standards. Our skater to coach ratio is 12 to one per class.   • Skating Lessons Tots 3 Ages 3-5

    Prerequisite, passed Tots 2. Tots 3 skaters must master push and glide stroking (not marching) for 6 strides. They should be able to hold a dip for the length of their height with an appropriate amount of speed. Skaters must demonstrate a snow plow stop or create snow with their blade at a stand still. Forward swizzles should be complete starting with heels together and ending with toes together. Participants must be registered by their current age. If you have not participated in Community Education’s Skating Lessons in the past, you must register for Tots or Pre-Alpha. Skaters are evaluated regularly and when the Skating Director feels a skater has mastered all of the skills in their level, they will be moved up to the next level/class.   • Track & Field Grades 3-6

    Students will have the opportunity to try out different track and field events and then choose the ones they enjoy the most to showcase their skills in a special track and field meet! The fee includes a t-shirt, coaching and the track meet. The meet will be held on Monday, May 19 from 4:30pm to approximately 7:30pm at the Forest Lake Area High School track. Parents are responsible for transportation to and from the meet. No refunds will be given for weather related cancellations as no rain date is available. Registration by 3:30pm on the second day of class (Wednesday, May 1) is required in order to receive a t-shirt. *4660-SP24G is for St. Peter's and practices will be held at Forest Lake Elementary.
