The Early Childhood Programs are an integral part of Forest Lake Area Schools (FLAS). We work together to assure that children transition smoothly into kindergarten.
The program offers before and after school childcare, non-school days (NSD) and summer childcare. Fees are listed in the current fee schedule online. The program opens at 6am and closes at 6pm.
If you've taken Crochet-Beginning 1 or are experienced in crocheting, it's time to see where your creativity can bring you. Your crochet instructor will lead you through making a hat and scarf set plus an optional pair of mittens, if time allows. Email your instructor Shelli Matheson at shelli.matheson@gmail.com with any questions. Supplies and yarn for the hat and scarf set: size J crochet hook (6mm) or size needed to obtain gauge. If you have a size I or K hook, please bring that along. We will test the gauge on the first evening. Weight 5 yarn (Acrylic or Wool): 120 yards for the hat, 360 yards for the scarf and 240 yards for the mittens.
Shelli Matheson is a crochet blogger and designer. She first learned to crochet in the late 70s but set it aside for about 25 years. Since that time, Shelli has become an avid and enthusiastic crocheter who works consistently to improve her skills. One of her biggest joys is teaching and encouraging others how to crochet and develop new skills.
