The Early Childhood Programs are an integral part of Forest Lake Area Schools (FLAS). We work together to assure that children transition smoothly into kindergarten.
The program offers before and after school childcare, non-school days (NSD) and summer childcare. Fees are listed in the current fee schedule online. The program opens at 6am and closes at 6pm.
Intermediate/Advanced participants should already be familiar with the proper form for all of the strokes. The class will perform a review of the form for all the strokes but quickly move to rally play. It is the goal of this class to prepare students to actually play a game of tennis on a full court. Students not performing at an intermediate/advanced level may be asked to move down to the beginner level.
Beginner tennis students will learn the basics of good form for the following 4 strokes: forehand, backhand, volley and serve. This foundation will allow them to start to rally with each other by the end of the class. Games that reinforce the form will also be mixed in throughout the program. Participants are evaluated regularly and when the coaches feel that a participant has mastered all of the skills in their level, they will be moved up to the next level/class.
Colors shown below for each class don't correspond correctly to the levels. Please register by level as explained above. If you questions about which level is the best fit, please email or call Katie Suloff at ksuloff@flaschools.org or 651-982-8392.
