The Early Childhood Programs are an integral part of Forest Lake Area Schools (FLAS). We work together to assure that children transition smoothly into kindergarten.
The program offers before and after school childcare, non-school days (NSD) and summer childcare. Fees are listed in the current fee schedule online. The program opens at 6am and closes at 6pm.
Prerequisite, passed Tots 1.
Tots 2 skaters must master a two-foot hop with both feet leaving the ice. Skaters must demonstrate one swizzle going from heels touching to toes touching in a stand still and while moving. Skaters should hold the two-foot glide for a distance equal to their height. Skaters are evaluated regularly and when the Skating Director feels a skater has mastered all of the skills in their level, they will be moved up to the next level/class. Skaters must officially test out of each level and demonstrate skills in accordance with ISI national testing standards. Our skater to coach ratio is 12 to one per class.
