    Little Rangers Preschool is an integral part of Forest Lake Area Schools. We work together to assure that children transition smoothly into kindergarten. Our high quality classes focus on each child’s social, physical and pre-academic development. We use a play-based curriculum allowing children to learn through exploration and discovery. Children will learn age appropriate math, writing, music, art, language and science while making friends and experimenting with their growing independence.   • Little Rangers Preschool Full Day

    Full Day Preschool is offered at seven locations for four and five-year-old children. It is solely funded through parent fees. Since the Full Day program does not receive any state funding the program fully relies on parent fees to offer high-quality programming for four and five-year-olds.   • Little Rangers Preschool Half Day

    Half Day Preschool is offered at the Family Center for three, four, and five-year-old children. Half Day Preschool is a School Readiness program that is funded by various sources: parent fees, state aid, and levy funding. Since there are multiple funding sources families can apply for an in-house School Readiness Scholarship providing financial assistance to families that have risk factors such as low income, family disruption, emergency circumstances, etc. This scholarship is based on a sliding fee scale adopted by the Early Childhood Program.   • Little Rangers Preschool with Parents

    Little Rangers Preschool is an integral part of Forest Lake Area Schools. We work together to assure that children transition smoothly into kindergarten. Parents attend with children one day each week participating in classroom activities and parent discussion. Children additionally attend one or two days each week independently. Topics of parent discussion include kindergarten readiness, promoting your child’s independence and raising successful learners. Sibling care is offered on parent days for children who are not enrolled in a daytime class. Fees are determined by your family’s gross income. It is our goal that all children are able to attend preschool regardless of income.

    School Age Care - Grades K-3 SAC is a before and after school childcare program where your child will engage in a variety of fun, enriching opportunities in a safe and caring environment. Sonic - Grades 4-6 Our Sonic before and after school childcare program provides activities that encourage students to develop new skills and pursue interests while providing a place to hang out with friends in a fun environment. Hours of operation : Summer & Non-School Days 6am-6pm Summer registrations are accepted February 1-May 1 or until sites fill. Fall registrations are accepted February 1-August 1 or until sites fill.

  • Steps Ahead Ages 3-5

    Steps Ahead is a childcare program for children at least 3 years of age and not yet in kindergarten. Children must be toilet trained. The program has experienced, friendly and nurturing staff that help children build independence, confidence and skills needed for kindergarten. Hours of operation: 6am-6pm Fall registrations are accepted February 1-July 1 or until sites fill. Summer registrations are accepted February 1-April 1 or until sites fill.
