Growing Blueberries In Your Backyard

Adult / Arts & Home -
Fall 2021

Blueberries are such a carefree shrub, it’s a wonder more people don’t grow them. They are long-lived and generally free of disease and insect problems. Fall is the best time to prepare the bed for planting blueberry bushes next spring. We will discuss how to successfully grow blueberries including site requirements, adjusting acidity, soil preparation, cultivars for our climate, buying plants, pruning and seasonal protection from birds, rabbits and winter.
